A Smart Key Holder and Password Manager.

OVERVIEW

Clexi is a delicate combination of technology and design in accessories. It is a password manager, smart lock, and adorable key holder which carries all your real and digital keys(passwords) comfortably, securely, and fashionably. 

Minimalism with a universal attitude has been the goal of this project. All design and evaluation steps were passed with attention to these three factors: simplicity, security, and user-friendliness.

What was we looking for?

While security in the past was meant to keep the doors of the castle closed, today, it has changed to keep your credentials safe from expert hackers. Nowadays, there are numerous applications and devices which are trying to solve this problem. But something has been missed; delightful design!

​

As an industrial designer who has had different experiences in technology and accessories design, I was searching for a meaningful relationship between aesthetic and function.

​

Providing privacy for having a better digital life with a strong root in design philosophy turned into a goal for us. By merging these two categories, Clexi was born. 

​

What were the strenghths and weaknesses of the best products in the market?

As one of those who have always had a challenge with managing and security of passwords, the first step was to Analyze Best Practices, find security bugs, and think about what will improve user experience? 

Analyzing the best practices was helpful to find security bugs and the clues about how we can inhance user experienc.

We benefited from Agile product development. By collaboration with the CTO, I defined sprints to set periods of time during which specific work has to be completed and made ready for. These sprints were based on the different versions of software (IOS, Android, and desktop) and also the design, development, and production phase of hardware.

A part of the physical agile board in the office. The idea behind the board was to create a tangible progress board. It turned into a good spot for the team to discuss developed and new features and plan for the next step.

To better understand our customers’ needs, behaviors, experiences, and goals, based on our market research, we defined 2 different personas. 

Personas were defined based on the market research and identified gaps in the password managers in the market.

I was thinking about the combination of a keyholder and a password manager. It could be a good and practical value-added for our product. As I was familiar with working with leather and designed many different accessories with this warm and wonderful material, the initial ideas were around the combination of leather and other materials.

Clexi is a delicate combination of technology and design in accessories. Users will be able to log in to their accounts automatically and securely only by pressing a button. Also, their devices will be locked and unlocked based on proximity. Out of the box, it is a password manager, smart lock, and adorable key holder which carries all real and digital keys(passwords) comfortably, securely, and fashionably.
