Nikoo Farvardin

Based in Vancouver, BC, Canada

I am a human-centered product and experience designer.

Having completed my bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, I recently graduated from Emily Carr as a Master of Interaction Design. Working in startups for over 6 years has allowed me to gain an empirical understanding of the startup ecosystem and learn how to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.

I am a creative thinker and a trained design researcher who examines problems through a strategic lens. This leads me to identify the real needs of users and offer them useful and desirable solutions.

The deep empathy with women’s unique challenges in the business world has motivated me to dedicate my master’s thesis research to addressing and tackling these issues. By applying a participatory approach, I designed Foojan to empower women entrepreneurs in starting or continuing their businesses.
